The Not So Supreme Former Leader of North Korea

Just yesterday I was thinking of North Korea and its tragic history. Even more tragic is the way people are forced to live. Today I found out that the "Elvis of Asia" or Kim Jong Il died at 69. Only God truly knows how many thousands, if not millions of people have died under his dictatorial regime. If regular North Koreans suffered, Christians fared much worse. Thousands of people live in concentration camps, all because they refused to worship or be a part of the Cult of Personality. Kim's mug, as well as the mug of his father are plastered in every building in North Korea. As I thought about this "hermit country", my heart made a longing for its freedom. I prayed to God that one day the North Korean's would be free and join their southern brethren. More importantly I am hoping that once free, all of North Korea will convert to Christianity. How glorious it would be for that to happen. Kim's time was up and when God says it is up, no one can escape his will...not even world dictators or despots.

Senator Durbin is Against Religious Freedom

Senator Durbin is Against Religious Freedom

It sure seems that way. Illinois Senator Dick Durbin has been holding out on the re-authorization of H.R. 2867. If re- authorized it would once again fund the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), a commision which has been instrumental in monitoring religous freedom all over the world. According to published reports Senator Durbin has been holding out because he rather build a Federal prison in his home state that will house terrorists.

If the USCIRF ceases to exist all Christians in the world will be wiped out by their enemies. And if Durbin does not support religious freedom the next step will be to eliminate religious freedom in the United States. I have said it once and I will say it again--everyone should have the freedom to believe in any faith of their choosing. The playing field should be equally leveled and let God choose His people. No one should be discriminated or oppressed for what they believe in.

In the past, when I dealt with Durbin's office they were very helpful. I was very pleased with his work until now. It does not make any sense to me that he would do this. So please call his office ASAP to have him re-authorized H.R. 2867. His number is 202-224-2152. Please call his office today!

Yesterday, it dawned upon me that blasphemy laws are quite evil. Historically speaking many people have been put to death for the charge of blasphemy. Currently, Asia Bibi is in jail for blasphemy. Hundreds of Christians are being slaughtered in countries in Africa and the Middle East because someone charged them as blaspheming the name of God. Actually these grotesque actions show that people are terribly insecure with their own faith. People are incense with hate when simple words offends them. And it is a complete contradiction. I believe that God is all powerful he does not need anyone to defend Him. The idea that one must be killed because she/he had the free will to speak his/or her mind is abhorrently evil. And then again, it dawned upon me that Jesus Christ himself was killed for the same charge!! Wow... I thought. The implications are earth shattering! Our Lord and Savior was killed for the same petty argument. In the 21st century nothing has changed...people are still doing the unforgivable and their heart is so filled with darkness they are totally blind to God's true saving grace. May God truly open your heart to the light, for you to see the error in this kind of teaching. Love, grace and peace is within your reach...you just have to accept it.

Arab Spring Unites the Persecuted Church

Praise be to God, our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Today, the day right after 11/11/11 the Moody Church in Chicago hosted the Persecuted Christians: Affliction or Privilege? The Impact of Islam in the East and West Conference. Being the first of its kind in a major U.S. city, and the first of its kind to be held in a world renown church, the conference's aim was to bring to light how Islam has impacted east/west relationships. There were over 13 speakers who spoke about their experiences as Christians living in the Middle East to a crowd of over 250 people. It was noted that in the 20th century alone, over 45 million Christians have been collectively killed by world governments such as the Soviet Union, Nazism, and the Communist Khmer Rogue. In Sudan over 2 million people were killed, most being of Christian descent. The tragedy of the ordeal is that many Christians in the West have been slow to recognize the persecution of Christians. But conference speakers posed the question---Why are Christians being persecuted? Simply put, Christians are being persecuted because the world hates the name of Jesus Christ. The name of Jesus Christ is offensive to all that are not believers. It was noted that in the United Kingdom alone, Christians are being discriminated in an alarming rate through law suits for wearing a Christian cross (a symbol of their faith) and for their moral values.

Another speaker noted how just three weeks ago a Muslim boy of 17 years old was killed in Egypt for refusing to remove his cross. His teacher and two classmates beat him to death. So much hate filled their heart that it drove them to murder. In another violent confrontation in Egypt, a military truck plowed through a group of Christian women and children who were carrying a wooden cross.As hard as it may be, Christians facing persecution count it a privilege to be persecuted. Their persecution is having the opposite effect to their pysche. Their persecutors hope to terrorize them but many Christians are not afraid to die and willingly become martyrs before denying their Lord Jesus Christ. When two Christian men were killed by Turkish Muslims, the very next day their two widows went on public television to forgive the killers of their husbands. No other faith in the world has ever shown this capacity to forgive and love their enemies like Christianity does. If by tomorrow Muslim countries lifted their restrictions regarding conversion--thousands, if not millions of Muslims would convert to Christianity instantly.

It is imperative for Chrisitians in the West to wake up and meet their misguided Muslim brothers and sisters with love and understanding. Islam's main goal is to conqueror the entire world. It is imperative that all Christians in the West become BASHIR, or evangelists to address the many wrongs that are coming because the persecution of Christians is a natural extent of the Christian experience, so says the Bible. This is about how the whole world is turning a blind eye to the persecution of Christians. Christian persecution is very real. Voice of the Martyrs is reporting that Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani's death sentence has been upheld by the Iranian Supreme Court and that your urgent action is needed!

Pastor Youcef, a leader in the Full Gospel "Church of Iran" was arrested in 2009, after protesting a decision by the government requiring that his son study the Quran. He was later sentenced to death by the Iranian regime for apostasy. Pastor Youcef appealed the decision and was waiting for the Supreme Court to review his case and decide whether to uphold the death sentence. A judicial execution of a Christian convicted of apostasy has not occurred in Iran in two decades.

Sources inside Iran have informed our ministry partners that there is no more action that can be done within the Iranian court system at this time to overturn this sentence which can be carried out at any time. The only option right now is to IMMEDIATELY and SWIFTLY raise international attention to this issue.

Radical Islam Unites Christians

Attacks against Christians by radical Islamists across the globe is having unintended consequences. Christians of different denominations are uniting to raise awareness about the violent nature and deception of Islam. Held in Downers Grove, IL the conference The Persecuted Church: Christian Believers in Peril in the Middle East is one of many assemblies happening throughout the United States.

On March 12, 2011 speakers from many Christian sects gathered in front of over 300 attendees to speak about their experiences and to discuss strategies to stop the Islamic onslaught. Speakers noted that in Islamic countries such as Egypt, the indigenous are killed because of their Christian faith in plain view and collaboration of the government. Attackers of St. George Church in Egypt fired away at Christians from behind army tanks. In Iraq, Julianna Taimoorazz stated that “No mercy is shown to children. Infants [are] broiled and presented to their mothers on a rice plate.” Dr. Edward Odisho stated that the “Situation of the Christians in the Middle East is very bad.”

Muslim radicals go about killing Christians and bombing their churches with such impunity the International community must take a stand. Muslims kill Christians because they are considered infidels. Muslims believe that they have a right to kill Christians and they are not punished by Islamic courts.

Christian minorities in Islamic countries are being forced to convert or otherwise die if they don’t. They are threatened to 1) convert to Islam, or 2) stay and pay high taxes or 3) leave their home. The tactics used by Muslim radicals is plain terror. But Christians are taking great courage through Jesus Christ that strengthens them. Muslims intend to take over the world using these tactics but the antidote for Islam is Christianity.

As a result Islam is doing what thousands of years could not do. All Christian denominations are uniting to defend their faith. This was one of the most beautiful things I saw when I attended the conference. I saw Coptic Christians, Catholic, Protestants, Evangelicals, and Episcopalian coming together in Christ. Never had I seen this before in my life time and never did I think I would see it. What Muslims want to destroy is not working.

Their purpose to destroy and divide Christians is backfiring. Christian churches will continue to unite and they will become stronger and unstoppable. Thank God for his providence. Message to Muslims: the more you attack us the more we will grow. The more you kill Christians, the stronger we will become. Ultimately other Muslims will see the true nature of their faith and they too will be converted and be united to Christ.

The Egypt that Once Was

Egyptians were not Arab. Thousands of years before the advent of Islam, the original Egyptians were African. As we hear cries of revolution in Egypt, I get an eerie sense that it is Egypt’s ancient past which is crying for freedom. For hundreds of years Islam and the Arab culture has dominated Egypt. The Arab culture has dominated the land so much that modern day Egyptians actually look more Arab than Egyptian.

There was a time when Alexandria was the hub of knowledge. There was a time when Egypt welcomed the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, when he was a baby. Christians are not welcomed anymore. Just a few months ago a bomb was sent off that killed over a dozen Coptic Christians in front of their Church. Extremists have always oppressed minority groups in the land of the Pharaohs. During the swine flu epidemic thousands of pigs were slaughtered by Egyptian authorities because they ignorantly believed that the virus was spread by pigs.

I can’t help to think that in addition to rampant unemployment, the youth of Egypt are fed up with the oppressive system which has existed for the past three decades. The youth of Egypt are sick and tired of having an Egypt mired in ignorance and intolerance. May Mubarak get lost and hopefully Egypt becomes the great beacon of scholarship it was known for.

Today the Nation is celebrating the life of Civil Rights Leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that he was a man of courage and a man of God. He was the figure that when he saw an injustice he spoke against it. He was a man that lived his to fulfill Jesus Christ’s commandment to “love your neighbor such as yourself”! American is a much better place because of his admirable work. His work allowed for us to live more free.

But today in 2011. We are still not free. Our slave mentality persists through our unrighteous acts. We smoke, we drink, we use drugs, we are sexually immoral, we spend all of our lives partying, lying, stealing and cheating. We hate our neighbor and wish we can be better than everyone else. We may be free physically. But all of humanity is still a slave to sin. We continue to be prisoners because we do not want to turn to God. We do not want to open our hearts to him and admit that we are sinners and that we cannot continue to live on without his redeeming grace. It does not matter if we are red, yellow, brown, black or white. Sin transcends race and national creed. The only man that can totally free us is Jesus Christ. We are free physically but the devil still has most of humanity in its grip. Turn to Jesus Christ. He is the Savior that will break all the chains that drag us into despair and fear. Only Christ through God his Father has the power to make us free forever.

Why Christianity is Above all Faiths

Can somebody please tell me why the general public is so naive and gullible? Recently in Pakistan a moderate politician was assassinated because he had the courage to criticize antiquated laws in his country. The person I am talking about is Punjab Governor Salman Taseer. He was shot dead by his own security guard Malik Mumtaz Qadri because Taseer did not believe in the current blasphemy laws that condemn anyone for talking "bad" about Allah, the Koran or Muhammad.

Asia Bibi is currently in prison for not believing in Muhammad. She made a heartfelt declaration of her faith in Jesus Christ and right away she was beaten, and thrown in jail by radical Islamists. This entry is not meant to criticize anyone but to glorify God---I will expound why Christianity is so much different. I will expound why Jesus Christ is Savior and Lord of Lords. I will expound why Christianity is so much better. I will expound why if this earth is going to turn a blind eye to the real truth--everyone who does not believe in Him will be condemned.

When Jesus Christ was walking the earth in the flesh he was hurled all kinds of insults. He was spat at, beaten, kicked and stoned by the religious leaders of the day who also wanted to kill him for blasphemy---but to the glory of God, not once did Jesus Christ fought back against his attackers. Not once did he commanded the heavens to destroy all of his enemies--even though he had ALL the power in the universe to do so. And now let us fast forward to the year 2011 were a defenseless mother is going to be assassinated by extremists who claim they are doing God a favor. When is the entire world going to wake up?

Merry Christmas

Yesterday I went shopping to a local toy store. The clerk at the cashier station would say to paying customers "Happy Holidays." When it came my turn to pay, I replied "Merry Christmas". She looked totally shocked by my replied. It looked as if she was going to have a heart attack. The truth of the matter is that no one in the United States is being encouraged to say "Merry Christmas" anymore. Everyone is afraid to offend people that may not be Christian. As a Christian I get offended when people tell me "Happy Holidays." I am not a secularist pagan. I am a believer in Jesus Christ and I celebrate Christ every day of the year, December 25th just happens to be the BIG DAY. But the feelings of Christians in America do not matter anymore. More and more entities in this country are attacking Christianity. It all started with the commercialization of Christmas. Santa Claus slowly came to replace Jesus Christ as the reason for the season.

The only way this is going to change is if Christians themselves begin to take a stand. Many Christians themselves do not want to say "Merry Christmas" anymore because they want to be politically correct. We have every right if not more to celebrate and share Jesus with everyone. It does not matter if it be Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, or Jehovah Witness, we should greet them all with a warm and cheerful "Merry Christmas" because Jesus died for them too.

Evangelicals Support Immigration Reform

IT WAS ABOUT TIME! The National Association of Evangelicals (NEA) has finally made a public declaration in support of comprehensive immigration reform in the United States. I do not know what took them so long to make up their mind, but it’s better late than never.

During the George Bush era thousands of immigrant families were separated. Children that were born as United States citizens were separated from their parents who were undocumented. They were mercilessly torn apart to enforced broken immigration laws. Equally painful was the stance taken by many so-called “Christians” which supported these inhumane acts. As Christians they forgot the mandates established by Jesus Christ himself that we must show love to our neighbors. Jesus Christ himself was an immigrant in the land of Egypt when his parents had to leave Jerusalem. The fact is that racist Christians do exists in the form of Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, and Bill O’Reilly. They became the “pastors’ of the Christian Right, which I have always stated publicly are neither Christian nor RIGHT!

“Our churches and communities have been blessed by immigrants, many of whom bring strong faith, entrepreneurial energy and traditional family values that strengthen our future,” said Galen Carey, NAE Director of Government Affairs.

Suffice to say I am overwhelmed with emotion that a major Christian body has finally made a public declaration about immigration reform. It makes me very happy to be called a Christian and very proud at that.

FACT:

Being that he was Emperor at the time Constantine could have very easily written the Bible to pay homage to himself. But no evidence exists that the

Bible is partial to Constantine, his Emperorship or his Bishops. The Bible is impartial to heads of state or governments.

Myth#3: The Bible tolerates immoral behavior because the U.S. allows sexual exploitation, use of drugs, and homosexuality.

FACT:

The Bible teaches that every individual is responsible for his lifestyle. The U.S. is NOT a theocracy, and the Church cannot dictate o

r control social norms. Jesus did not go condemning sinners. He forgave them in the hopes that his grace would encourage them to reform themselves through love and not corporal punishment.

Myth#4: Christians promote death and violence throughout the world. Prime example is President George W. Bush who was a Christian and started the Iraq War.

FACT:

Western governments like the U.S. are political, not religious. The church and government are separate. The church cannot dictate to the government how to govern, and the government does not control the Church how to worship. George Bush is an oil tycoon, alcoholic, turned politician who used Christianity to fool people and profit from it.

FACT:

Christians in the tens of thousands across the world are being tortured, imprisoned, and killed for trying to practice their faith. Among some countries were Christians have no freedom whatsoever to preach or practice their faith are North Korea, Indonesia, China, Arabia, Israel, Cuba and Iran, just to name a few countries. I recently got my free New Testament copy in Arabic from the Arabic Bible Outreach Ministry. I am still waiting for the other book I ordered from the Sharif Foundation to be sent. I am very excited to have gotten this New Testament because I will give it to a Muslim co-worker. My Muslim co-worker sometimes rides with me after work. I know that once a person has been indoctrinated since birth, it is very hard to accept any other belief system. But the Bible says that with God all things are possible. This bible is translated from the King James Version. Showcasing a green cover, the text reads from right to left and it includes an English translation.

Incidentally, the Arabic Bible Outreach Ministry only asks that a person donate five dollars to help with the shipping costs, but there is no obligation to donate any money to them. However, I think that I will give a donation to cover the costs for at least five New Testaments. There is a great thirst for the Word of God through Jesus Christ in the Arab world. What a great way for us to get involved in this great cause!

What is a Non-Denominational Christian?

I am a non-denominational Christian. It took me so many years of spiritual struggle to realize that is who I am. I was born into a Roman Catholic family, going to Sunday school, lighting candles and praying to the Saints in church. I however never had the honor of doing my first communion, or confessing my sins to the father. At the start of my formative years, I was whisked away from South of the Border to the City by the Lake. It was here in the good Old U.S. of A where I was exposed to a pluralism of religions. And for a boy such as myself, that is when my tumultuous times began. Would I remain a Catholic, or become Baptist? Would I be Protestant? Evangelical? Or would I join the Jehovah's Witnesses? In the end I could not agree with many of their contradictory teachings. Also, how could any Christian believe that his or her denomination is better than the other? Why to me it sounded almost blasphemous. Beyond arrogance.

What was I to do? I was always searching for the Truth. Reading and learning about each faith as much as I could. The more I did that the more I felt I was digging myself into a quagmire. Ultimately, I made the decision to remain a Christian. But how would I reconcile all the contending sects? God gave me a very simple answer. I did not have to abandoned my faith in Christ for not being a member of a mainstream denomination. The Bible does not have a manual about which Christian denomination to believe in. He does not say be Catholic or Protestant. Jesus clearly said, "Believe in me and the Father who sent me." Period. Case closed. I know what the truth is. Knowing the truth has brought me boundless peace. If I had to suffer through such an agonizing spiritual trial to come to the Truth, I can't imagine how many millions of Christians have left their faith because they too have felt the same way. To them I say, you do not have to abandoned your first love, which is Christ, to be free and saved from sin. I say come back to your rightful House. The House of Christ which will always welcome you back with open arms.

The Power of God

In one of my earlier posts I blogged how how God had healed my mom of cancer. Within this tumultuous time I read the Bible, looking for an answer because I knew in my spirit that the Bible was the only place were I could find the answer to tap into the power of God. Soon enough I came to this realization---a person that believes in God through Jesus Christ, has the power of the entire universe at the tip of their fingers! Imagine that if you can. The same power that made the heavens and the earth. The same power to build and destroy. The same power that moves every quark within the tiniest of elements to the largest of objects. It is this same power that can heal and create life. The same power of resurrection. This is incredible power no one can phantom! And to think that all Christians have access to this power is even more unbelievable!! What a gift! And to use it, all we have to do is believe and ask. When I had realized this 'lo and behold, a miracle had occurred.

I still don't understand why some people are healed and some are not. Perhaps their faith is not as strong as it should be, perhaps it is their time, perhaps there is a greater purpose to this cycle called 'life'. I still believe that everyone can be healed and cured of any disease, if God wills it, but I think it is more of a question how each individual person approaches God. This reminds me of another key moment in the Bible. The Disciples were astonished that God had granted them many miracles. Jesus however told them in Luke 10:20 "...do not rejoicing because the spirits are submitting to you. Rather, rejoice because your names are written in heaven [or in the Book of Life]."

What this meant to me is that when amazing things begin to occur in your redemptive life, do not be surprised but rather be more thankful and humbled that the reason why these astonishing things are happening in your life (when previously they did not occur) it is only because you are already saved! That is how you will know you have gained God's greatest favor---God's greatest gift, which is Eternal Life. Amen

Cure of Cancer is Christ

True Story

Cancer is the scourge of this present generation. I know several people at work who have had cancer or who have died from this terrible disease. My own mother was first diagnosed with cancer about 4 years ago. She was diagnosed with a rare form of sarcoma. The doctors first thought it was a fat tumor. After her first surgery it came back in a matter of weeks. She had already endured a major surgery and had to go for a second one.

It was the darkest part in my life as well as the brightest. After her second surgery we thought that it was gone since none of her other body parts were tainted. But a few months later another MRI revealed that her cancer had spread to her lungs. The doctors had called me and the news was so devastating. And as her son, I had to be the bearer of bad news. How do you tell your mother that she is dying? Where can a person get that kind of courage? The entire ordeal tore me apart. The only remedy we got from the doctors was to continue to cut the cancer out of her body. I took my mom to several cancer experts here in the Midwest--they all gave us grim news. Any treatment had less than 20% of working and less to kill it altogether.

"You have to believe."

At this moment I turned to Scripture and what the Bible said about healing. If Jesus had the power to heal, I knew that he could also heal my mother. I am a firm believer that God, in his infinite wisdom, also left for us in this earth the cure for every disease known to man. If God was so loving in giving us water, the sun, and crops to sustain us, He would have also given us the cure for all of our diseases. It makes perfect sense to me. I reached out literally across the globe for perfect strangers to pray for my mother. And I went to several churches whom I was not even a member making an appeal for them to pray for her and of course our family members also prayed. With much prayer, change in nutrition and her hospital treatment, God did heal my mother completely from this disease. Even the doctor's could not believe that the tumors in her lungs had died! As a matter of fact, she did not even complete her entire treatment that is how great a miracle God worked in her.

In the Bible I believe that King Hezekiah was also dying of cancer, but God cured him. After much repentance God ordered a treatment for this king. In Second Kings 20: 7 the Bible says "And Isaiah said "'take a lump of figs . And they took and laid it on the boil and he recovered.'"

In this family trial God had shown me His great redemptive power. For us human beings cancer is very hard to cure, but to God it is nothing! What is impossible for us is possible for God. It is an easy thing. Other family members that were stricken by other terminal diseases like tuberculosis have also been cured by God's handiwork (I'll save the details of this story for another future post). I know God and Jesus Christ do exist. This is not only my testimony. But it is the testimony I share with the rest of our family and I hope and pray that if any of your relatives are going through the same ordeal to be encouraged and trust in God thought Jesus Christ. The Virtues of a Righteous Woman

A charming, beautiful woman is not godly, only she who fears the Lord is.

The Bible, and when I refer it to it, I only mean the Old and New Testament, provides a guide for a righteous woman to be identified. In this time and age nothing is more important. Civilizations rise and fall with the work of women. I believe that the greatest of all creations is not the stars, nor the earth, or the sea, nor animals. God's greatest creation is the woman. She was created last by God because He wanted it to be right.

Yet, when the Snake came along in the Garden, the woman was the first to be tempted and fall. When she was tempted she brought her husband Adam down with her. In today's era most women that fall under temptation are those recruited by oppressive cults. They enslave her mind as well as her will. Adolf Hitler began his work to dominate Germany by first getting to the women. Once he had them, the husbands soon followed...and we all know how history turned out.

So what traits must a man look for in a virtuous women? The Bible provides the following extensive verses Provers 31:10-31. But I will only highlight a few,

31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
31:11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 31:12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
31:26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

Paul also gives instruction to the husband about how to love their wives. He said, love your wives like Christ loves the Church. But what is a husband to do when he has given his wife everything, and lacks nothing else? What is a husband supposed to do when although firm, he speaks in a low voice to her, yet she comes out lashing like a lion?? There have been cases were women have beaten their husbands. Why would a woman react like that even if she was a Christian? The only explanation is that there are other ulterior motives behind women that behave that way, motives that could lead to her own disastrous results. If she refuses to listen to good counsel of love from her husband. If she rather listen to her own dark and twisted motivations, or her cult leaders? Then the Christian husband would do well not to go down with her as well. I believe that is one of the wisdoms of the ages.

Stop Condeming People

The church, generally speaking, condemns people. As a matter of fact it seems that 90% of the time that is what it does. Instead of condemning people, the church should spread more love and less hate. It seems that you can't turn on TV and not hear one televangelist condemning someone (except of course Joe Olsteen, I have yet to hear him condemn someone). They condemn people for their addiction to alcohol or drugs. For the choices one makes, for how people want to think as individuals. The church condemns people for their clothing. People get condemn for whether they go to church or they do not go to church. People get condemn for their lifestyles. Churches are publicly humiliating people. We sound as if people owe us something. And the only thing we should owe each other is the love of Jesus Christ for one another.

But all these pastors that spend 90% percent of their time in the pulpit condemning someone they forget one teaching of Jesus Christ, "don't judge, less you be judged the same way". There is no wonder many people get turned off by Christianity. There is no wonder people have stopped believing in God. They are being discouraged by venomous words, instead of encouraged by the words of God. Before oppression stops in the world by rogue countries or would be dictators, the church as a whole has to stop oppressing people first.

People who have these condemning afflictions are plagued by many things. We do not know what is going on in their lives, or what has happened to them that they behave like they do. What they need is love and understanding. I often think about the women caught in adultery. These crazed religious figures would have stonned her to death for her actions. But Jesus forgave her. When her oppressors left, the woman wondered what had happened to them. Jesus said to her "woman neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more."

RELIGION SAYS: "Change, or I will condemn you." The fear and threat of God's condemnation ..."keep us in line." This does not promote deep and lasting change. [Church] people who live under this tend to have a superficial and self-righteous kind of holiness.

GRACE SAYS: "I have forgiven and accepted you..." We don't change in order to be accepted, but because we have been accepted. Real righteousness is practicing love toward God and others. Nothing motivates this kind of lifestyle like forgiveness received. This is why grace, properly understood and appropriated, produces a superior righteousness in the lifestyle of its recipient.
Never forget...God is love and grace and he loves you too!

Evil of Tyrants and Dictators

While driving to work today, I heard in the radio of how Napoleon's arrogance took the best of him. It is a known fact that in spite of his diminutive stature, Napoleon became a dictator that conquered many lands. At the Battle of Waterloo, something unexpected happened. Napoleon's might had increased to such an extent that he believed he was all powerful. Napoleon believed that winning Waterloo was not going to be any different.

Speaking to one of his officers Napoleon said "We will put the infantry here, the cavalry over there, and the artillery in that spot. At the end of the day, England will be at the feet of France, and Wellington will be the prisoner of Napoleon."

The officer responded, "But, we must not forget that man proposes and God disposes."

Napoleon responded angrily, "I want you to understand, sir, that Napoleon proposes and Napoleon disposes!"

That day, Napoleon lost everything. God sent a terrible storm which caused him to be captured and his legend came to an end. We as followers of the Most High God cannot forget this simple truth. We are not greater than God. We cannot ever challenge God. Pride is a sin. The Bible says, "but what would profit a man that he gains the whole world but loose his soul?" No human should put God above anything in the heavens or earth. Doing so will be the cause of our own destruction.

God's Love Never Quits

This Friday morning, while driving to work, I saw on a Lutheran Church sign: Looking for Love? It was a poignant message. The truth is that every human being is always looking for love. Many in their quest to find love find it in the wrong places. But the Bible carries a simple core message, true love is found in God. We don't have to look anywhere else. God loves us with the kind of love we will never be able to phantom. Furthermore, unlike human love, God's love for us is everlasting. God's love never quits. Even those that get married, they take a pledge to love each other forever, but statistics show that 50% of the time, it fails.

God's love never quits because He truly loves us. That is how you know what true love really is. Imagine, we are very ungrateful. God gives us life, sustenance, health and yet we easily forget what he has done. We are always ready to quit.

Years ago, I used to feel that way. I quit on God countless times. But after my epiphany and after years of trials, how could I ever do that? Once an online contact told me that if my mom had died of cancer that I would have been cursing God----had he not cured her. This question gave me the chance to ponder. Is it right to claim you have love for someone only when things are going as you want them to go? Do we love someone because they do special things for us, always fulfilling our wishes? That is not true love. It is fake love. And our actions become clearly evident.

Only through countless trials and God's grace have I reached the level of spiritual maturity to respond that I will not stop loving God even through hardships.

What I will pray for is for him to give me the strength and will to survive any storm that may come my way. If you ever have a friend or family member that is going through a tough time, if you really love him or her don't give up! These are the times when people need moral support, if you can't give anything else--at least give them this much. And truly that is the least we could do if we really love God.

A Valentine's Day Message

God is love. No one has greater love than the love God has for us. As Christians, or would be converts to Christianity, we have to always remember this. Love in Christianity is like the air we need to breathe to stay alive. There are many erroneous teachings regarding God's love. Many of these teachings insist that God's love for us has preconditions. We are taught that we must always do something special for God to love us. Many teach that if we do not do the things that please Him, He will not love us. I don't believe this to be true. I believe that God loves us no matter what we do. A true loving parent, loves his or her children no matter what. At least that is how I feel towards my baby. When I see my baby, I can never imagine not ever loving her. So if our love for our children is unconditional, how much more the love of God towards us?

The Bible says that in the Last Days, love will wax cold. This means that society will become callous. I would like to say that society is passed this. I say society has become ruthless. Why do I say this? Because throughout the world people are killing each other in the name of God. God is not pleased by this turn of events. The only being that finds joy in these massacres is Satan. Satan has an interest to see us massacre each other for beliefs that we erroneously think God has taught us. If we kill each other, our quest to be forgiven and be saved by God through the name of Jesus Christ automatically ends. It completely comes to an end. The less time we have to live, the better for Satan and his handiwork. Satan's goal is to bring down as many people as he can with him into the pits of hell.

And for us, the apex of God's love is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ sacrificed himself so that we would be forgiven, as unworthy as we are. Jesus willingly layed down his life, so that we may live, thousands of years before any of us had to do anything special to attain God's love and mercy. Jesus was not crucified after our actions. He did it before! When I think about this it overwhelms me and I get a feeling which is beyond humility I cannot find the words to describe it. My eyes swell up with tears. It took me so long to realize this. I pray to God that everyone, whether they are Christian or not, realizes this before it is too late. Have a happy Valentine's Day in the Jesus' name.

Christian Charity

There is no substitute for Christian care. Christians, care for all the people of the entire world. (Never mind the right-wing fundamentalists. Even though it may be hard to believe they care for you too.) Critics will say, if this is true why have millions of people suffered through wars and foreign policies enforced by Christian nations, such the U.S? And there is a simple answer. Just because people may call themselves Christians by name, they are not Christians by faith. I call them cultural Christians, who like the rest of the world may only care for themselves. But overall, the overwhelming majority of Christian churches have done so much good for the welfare of all mankind. Christians extend a helping hand to all peoples, even if they are not Christian.

Once, when our family was poor and hungry, because of an apartment fire, we were sent by our state welfare agency to ask for assistance through a Jewish community organization. When they saw me with my mother, and they realized we were not Jewish, they turned us away. They told us, "Why are you here? Who sent you here?" When we returned to the state agency who referred us to them, they asked us to go back. They could not deny us because they themselves were receiving aid through public funds. Reluctantly, after much pressure from the state, the Jewish agency finally gave us the aid we needed. Now that I have grown up I realize why they did that. In contrast, during this same time, even though we were Catholic, we went to an evangelical church to ask for food and they gave us several boxes. Unfortunately, most non-Christian groups will only help their own, and no one else.

But Christians are different. If any nation is in need because of a natural disaster or hunger, Christian organization are the first to respond, even if they have to go to nations that are hostile to us. We do so because we have the love of Christ in us. When someone, no matter who they are is in distress, it pains us and the love of Christs compels us to help. Back in the 1950's and 60's when there was a great influx of Asian immigrants to the United States. These non-Christian immigrants sought shelter in Christian organizations such as the YMCA. No one was turned away even if they were Muslims or Hindus.

Times are changing because even after we have given people so much, we are being attacked by those who we help. They bite the hand that fed them. But that is OK, we do it because we receive our joy from the Lord. He told us thus:

Then the King will say to those on his right, `Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.

Then the righteous will answer him, `Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

The King will reply, `I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

No other group of people or faith that exists in this planet has done more good than Christians. No other faith. That is why I am a Christian and I will always be a Christian until the day I die.

Jesus Christ and Che Guevara

There is no denying that many special interest groups are spreading false perceptions of Christianity. One that is very notable is done by the socialists/communists. One of the biggest idols of socialism is Che Guevara. He is idolized by many people frustrated with how capitalism exploits the poor. If you ever go to a protest you will see Che's mug on t-shirts or banners. One would think it was as if we were viewing a photograph of Jesus Christ. But it is not. And that is what the socialists want the public to believe in an attempt to win converts for their revolutionary cause. They often say, Jesus Christ was a revolutionary, just like Che! This of course is totally false. Jesus Christ and Che Guevara are complete opposites. Jesus did cause a revolution, but it was a spiritual revolution. Jesus Christ's mission was never meant to be political.

Che, who was a doctor, was so incense about fighting for the rights of the poor that he felt killing the opposition was justifiable. Che was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people. He himself killed many with his own hand. So I ask the revolutionaries....I ask these Neo-Marxists, who want to pervert the saintly image of Christ, how many people did Jesus killed? How many people did Jesus the Christ ordered to be killed!? The answer is zeroooo!! Zilch! Nada!

Che Guevara is the spitting image of his father the Devil. Jesus Christ tells us that Satan was a liar and a murdered from the very beginning. Satan is using all these groups across the world to distort the image of our Lord and Savior. As Christians we have to be very careful that we do not allow ourselves to be deceived. God has no pride in seeing his children kill each other for any cause! Did any of the founders of Christianity like Matthew, Mark, Peter and Paul go around killing people? Did they spread Christianity with a sword? No. On the contrary, they were the ones being persecuted just as thousands of poor, and defensless Christians are being massacred across the globe today. Che died like he wanted to live---like a rat.

Why I am a Christian

When I first heard that Christian persecution existed even in the land of Israel I was shocked! I was shocked because I was under the impression Israel was somewhat similar to the United States in terms of tolerance for every religion. I expected Christian persecution in other countries such as North Korea, or Iran. But Israel?? Thousands of Christians do not realize that in Israel the Gospel of Christ cannot be openly preached. Any Christian that does it will be prosecuted and religious fanatics will try to kill him/her. Israel would not exist if it were not for the U.S. They get pumped billions of our tax dollars every year, and for what? So that in turn Christians are discriminated upon by the Israeli government and some of their people? As a Christian my tax dollars are going to a land that is intolerant of my faith. Everything about this notion is wrong.

In getting more educated about it I also found out that Judaism is a very legalistic religion. Apparently the Ten Commandments is not enough. They also observe and extra 613 commandments referred to as the 613 Mitzvot. It amazes me how so many religions become preoccupied with what Jesus Christ referred to as "trivial matters". Here are some of these commandments from the 613 Mitzvot that caught my eye:

# 13. To love other Jews Lev. 19:18
# 14. To love converts Deut. 10:19
# 15. Not to hate fellow Jews Lev. 19:17
# 38. Not to cease hating the idolater Deut. 13:9
#45. Not to be afraid of killing the false prophet Deut. 18:22
#60. Not to be superstitious Lev. 19:26

Are we to believe then that (as indicated by #'s 13 to 15, and 38) Jews only have love for their fellow Jews and have no room to love others? For #45, Deut 18:22 only says not to be afraid of the false prophet. It does not say to kill a false prophet. It seems to me that a high percentage of the Mitzvot is all about kill, kill, kill and hate, hate, hate. #60 states not to be superstitious or dwell with supernatural mysticism. Then what is the Kabbalah??

Going back to Jesus Christ, he was fully aware of all this mumble jumble. If humans cannot keep even ten commandments, how are they to keep more? That is why He condensed the Ten Commandments into only two. Christian commandment #1: Thou shall love your God with all of your heart and all of your mind. Christian commandment #2: Thou should love your neighbor just as yourself. That is it. Why do we need more? If we cannot comprehend worldly things how are we going to understand heavenly things? Why would anyone else believe in other faiths other than Christianity??

Forgiveness in Christ

The day I realize about God and the true purpose of his Word, I felt an overwhelming joy. I felt as if my spiritual eyes had been opened. And although prior to this I felt condemn and the lowest of the low, after this spiritual revelation, I no longer felt that way. The Bible describes this feeling regarding believers. It says that it is like scales coming off a person's eyes. Above all I felt an overwhelming sense of freedom. The yoke and shackles which were holding me down had come off. A little over six years have passed. I am amazed at the wonder of God and his mercy.

I know I am not worthy but yet He is always showering me with blessings. Most non-Christians will assume that my blessings come from diligently observing all Christian mandates of worship. However for me, it has never been the case. Almost always, I don't go to church (although I know I should), I don't fast (because Jesus often spoke about a spiritual fast being more important), I don't tithe (directly to a church as I have previously explained), I have never been baptised as an adult, and I most definitely have never participated in communion and sacraments. I am not a perfect person and I often fall by the way side, because I am still very much human. But if we listen to traditional church teachings regarding these mere deficiencies I should not be living the life I am living. It sounds like I am a walking contradiction. But it is all true. I am a very happy man. I have a beautiful family which consists of a beautiful wife and a beautiful baby. I have a house, roof and food---which God has provided. Maybe it is so because I am content with what I have. Maybe it is so because I am not trying to please anyone? Sometimes I do become frightened, because I ask myself, how can God still give me all this, in spite of the fact that I am an imperfect follower? What am I doing right or wrong, and yet He still protects my every path? The answer can only be Jesus Christ.

Over the years God has pulled me off some real hard spots that were life threatening. Yet he has always rescued me. No matter what I do from now on, I will never be able to repay him. I share this not to boast about it, but rather to boast about God's unyielding love. The best I can do is continue to have Him in my heart, always be grateful for his grace and mercy.

Like Sheep to the Slaughter

In my last post I mentioned that most mainstream institutionalized churches are very controlling of their flock. I feel that instead of creating genuine followers of Christ or God, they are creating mindless zombie slaves. I also stated that for the most part, I did not believe in any major denominational church--yet I still consider myself a Christian because I do believe in the Bible and it's message.

So I have received several private inquiries. What exactly did I mean by my statement? Many people did not understand my statement. Some even felt offended by it. Well, with out naming names this is what I meant. There are many mainstream religious institutions that control their flock by forbidding them to eat certain foods, some forbid marriages, others forbid them to get blood transfusions, others expect their followers to bow down to a human leader, some pray several times a day, some pray to idols, some demand strict purification rites, some demand that their followers never miss the Sabbath or go to church on Sundays, some demand that their subjects wear special clothes, or hang talismans in their bodies, or homes. If these mainstream denominations did not place so many obstacles in the way of people, so many more people would believe in Jesus Christ. These issues were the main reason why I took so long in accepting Christianity. It is very discouraging for people who are starting fresh. As a matter of fact, I am steadfast. I was not the problem. The problems were these misguided views. I am no longer discouraged by their beliefs. I let them be, as long as they let me live. Knowing this gave me greater encouragement!

God is interested in the internal. He is not interested in external matters. We as humans are far more interested in our external image. All of these requirements are meaningless to God. The fact is that if you live your life fulfilling these demands, none of them will get you saved. None of them.

And some institutions even practice dangerous dogma. The more outlandish the claim it seems that the more people gravitate to them. Jim Jones and David Koresh made claims that they were prophets of God. Look at what happened to them and their followers. The Hale Bob comet group, believed that a comet was going to rescue them from the destruction of the earth. Countless major religious groups made predictions that have never come true. So I asked myself does God make mistakes? NO. He does not. And unfortunately, some people do not react when a brick falls on their heads. By the time the entire wall falls on top them, it is too late.

Why I believe in Christ

I won't be able to explain everything about why I believe in Christ. For starters, I am a complete and pragmatic person. These characteristics have a lot to do with my faith. It took me well over 15 years to realize that Jesus is--- The Man! It all began when I was a teenager all the way into my 30's. The road was hard and very painful. But it was the only way for me to realize the truth. These years laid my foundation of faith. If anyone attacks me now, figuratively speaking of course, I deflect their missiles with a brush of my hand. The Bible calls the ability do this the Armor of God. Even at a tender age, I did not believe everything people told me. But since I live in a nation of pluralists, deciding what faith I would believe in was very daunting. And on top of that Christianity is characterized by countless denominations. It made things worse for me, because each denomination made claims that they were the true Church of God. Who do you believe? My answer was: NONE OF THEM.

What made me choose Christ, or who do I believe? THE BIBLE. If I was being taught a certain doctrine or system of belief by a church or specific group and it did not corrolate with the Bible, I pressed the eject button. God gave me a brain, a spirit and heart to discern the truth. If the brain was there, but not the heart or spirit---EJECT! Furthermore the Bible gave me absolute freedom, all these other denominations and eastern faiths felt very controlling, and are spiritual slavemakers, which create slaves for the sole purpose for their institutions to survive.

And to all the HATERS and NAYSAYERS who say the Bible was changed or made corruptible by the hands of man, whether you like it or not, I tell you boldly, it was never changed, it's message is PERFECT, and Jesus Christ, saves us through GRACE! Whether you like it or not. AMEN.

This is Christmas

While we will be celebrating Christmas with our family, in a warm and toasty environment, let us not forget our brothers and sisters who have nothing to sustain themselves but only the Word of God. There are numerous countries were Christian lives are being threatened on a daily basis. Who am I ?

I consider myself a born-again non-denominational Christian. I created this blog to bring attention to the persecution of Christians across the world. Most Christians who live in Western countries don't know that this is still happening. But it is. As a matter of fact, no Christian is safe. The first time I felt the sting of discrimination for my faith was when I was 14 years old. I however did not know anything about my professed faith compare to what I know now. Yet, that moment of displeasure is nothing compare to what thousands of Christians are suffering today. As recently as a few months ago, I did not know Christian persection was so wide spread. If I, being a Christian thought this way, then thousands, if not millions of others Christians may not be aware of it either.

Those that are currently killing Christians do so because they believe Christians will destroy their traditional way of life. But that is not true. They justfiy their violence because they believe that Christians missionaries are paid spies for western powers. Yeah right!! No western government has the resources to employ thousands upon thousands of people to fuel conspiracies. What triggers the thirst for blood and violence of these Christian persecutors is massive paranoia. Especially with this current economic crisis. The so-called Satanic Bible commands their believers to "live in peace with their neighbors", but if they feel threatened by their neigbors, it commands them to "destroy them and take away their lives first." This quote sounds very similar to teachings coming from other holy books. However, the Bible, specifically the New Testament, totally contradicts the killing of people. Jesus said "love your enemies such as yourselves."

So as Christians we must do what we have to do. We cannot allow our Christian brothers and sisters to be killed by our other misguided brothers and sisters because in spite of their persecutions we need to have love for them. You, as a Christian can do something about it. This holiday season donate to a Christian charity like the Voice of the Martrys. True Thankfulness

I recently heard a pastor talk in the Moody Radio Station how each year he was thankful. He said that as a Christian he was thankful for being SAVED. I ponder this thought and totally agreed. Good health and cheer is good too, but it is not the most important ideal for us Christians. As a result, I am thankful for being included as one of the saved along with my whole family. Thank you Jesus!
